Emerich has been involved in design and construction of residential, commercial and mixed-use projects in Canad and the US. Emerich served on the design team for the 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Games Athletes Village and followed the project through with the George Brown College Student Residence that hosted athletes prior to its commissioning as student housing. Emerich uses sophisticated renderings and clear analytical exercises to communicate architectural designs to clients, project stakeholders and the general public. Emerich has been a visiting critic to the University of Waterloo and University of Toronto.
Oliver Laumeyer has 18 years’ experience as a designer and project manager, combining meticulous attention to technical detail with a comprehensive perspective on the projects he manages. Oliver’s background in institutional, residential, hospitality architecture includes projects in Germany and Canada. His recent work includes project management for the mixed-use, multi-building The Well, on the former site of the Globe and Mail newspaper, and the community centre and residential components of the Pickering Town Centre redevelopment project. Oliver was a key member of the team for the George Brown College Student Residence and Cooper Koo YMCA Community Centre within the Canary District (the 2015 PanAm Athletes’ Village site), the Thompson Hotels and Residences, and ÏCE Condominiums at York Centre.
Before joining Standard Practice, Mark gained valuable experience by working in diverse locations, which provided him with extensive expertise in a wide range of project types, sizes, and budgets across both public and private sectors. With over 25 years of experience and involvement in projects in nearly a dozen countries, Mark understands the importance of teamwork and a collaborative approach. Since returning to the Toronto area in 2010, he has focused on the residential market, contributing to projects such as Sugar Wharf Phase 2, 241 Redpath, The Bread Company Condos, Art Shoppe Lofts, and ICE Condominiums. Mark graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Carleton University in Ottawa.
Miguel is an Intern Architect with the OAA and has over 10 years of experience working on a variety of project types, including residential, commercial, mixed-use, and institutional buildings. Prior to joining Standard Practice, Miguel worked on several large projects in Bogotá, Colombia, where he developed a keen eye for detail, visualization, and design. He has also worked at Toronto architectural offices on a range of residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects. Since joining Standard Practice, Miguel has contributed to several multi-unit developments in the GTA and has developed a strong technical skill set within the office.
