With over 25 years experience practicing architecture, Emerich has developed a body of work shaped by the clarity, simplicity and functionality of modern architecture, and by a steadfast commitment to urbanism, sustainability and housing.
Notable projects include the 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Games Athletes Village including the George Brown College Student Residence, Yonge+Rich and ICE condominiums. More recent projects include University Towns, 80 Dale, The Theo, The View and St Kitts Townhouses. Emerich uses sophisticated renderings and clear analytical exercises to communicate architectural designs to clients, project stakeholders and the general public.
Emerich has been a visiting critic to the University of Waterloo and University of Toronto.

Oliver Laumeyer

Oliver has over 20 years' experience as a designer and project manager, working on some of the largest and most complex mixed-use buildings in Toronto, taking them from concept to completion. Having lived in Japan, Korea and Germany before settling in Canada, his experience adds valuable perspective, an openness to new ideas and thinking outside the box.
Before joining Standard Practice, Oliver's finished work on The Well, a massive and highly ambitious mixed-use, 7 tower project in downtown Toronto, where he oversaw the completion of 3 high-rise towers, with 1250 residential units, majority rental. Prior to that, he honed his skills on multiple mixed-use projects covering residential, institutional and hospitality architecture, notably George Brown College Student Residence and Cooper Koo YMCA Community Centre for the Panam Games, the Thompson Hotels and Residences and the 57 and 67-storey tall ICE Condominiums.
His current role is to oversee the various phases and components for the expansion of the LiUNA183 Training Campus.

Before joining Standard Practice, Mark practiced across a wide range of locales, developing a broad and deeply informed architectural perspective shaped by work at many scales and across both public and private sectors. With nearly 30 years of professional experience and involvement in projects spanning almost a dozen countries, he brings a collaborative, team-driven approach to design rooted in clarity, rigour, and shared authorship.
Since returning to the Toronto area in 2010, Mark has continued to build on this diverse background through residential, mixed-use, and institutional work, including The Bread Company Condos, Art Shoppe Lofts, ICE Condominiums, and projects associated with the Pan Am Games. At Standard Practice, his work includes the St. Kitts Urban Townhouses, the Bolton Athletic Training Centre, and the LiUNA Local 183 Training Facility. Mark graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Architecture from Carleton University in Ottawa.

Miguel Garcia

Miguel is an Intern Architect with the OAA and has over 10 years of experience working on a variety of project types, including residential, commercial, mixed-use, and institutional buildings. Prior to joining Standard Practice, Miguel worked on several large projects in Bogotá, Colombia, where he developed a keen eye for detail, visualization, and design. He has also worked at Toronto architectural offices on a range of residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects. Since joining Standard Practice, Miguel has contributed to several multi-unit developments in the GTA and has developed a strong technical skill set within the office.
