Part of the LiUNA Local 183 Campus, a dedicated union training centre for construction trades which will play a key role in Ontario’s current initiatives to expand skilled-labour capacity in support of accelerated housing development across the province.
LiUNA Heavy Equipment Storage is a two-storey, 900m² steel structure forming part of the campus expansion. The building is designed to complement the larger workshop to the north, echoing its sawtooth geometry and material language to reinforce a cohesive campus identity. Inside, a 31 × 18 metre clear-span storage hall and integrated washing bay support the flexible use and maneuverability required for heavy construction equipment. The facility also functions as a satellite utility hub for the campus, consolidating controls and building services distribution to support operational efficiency and future expansion.
